BG Red Gamma:

Adjusts the Gamma(Contrast) of the backgrounds red channel.

The Foreground and Background Gamma controls provide a means of acheiving a proper color balance in the mid-range areas of the image.  A proper color balance between the foreground and background image produces a  more realistic composite.
